SOLD OUT Term 3 Clay & Canvas Course ~ Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:30pm July 27 - Sept 14
"Melissa has created the most nurturing and magical art classes in her studio space. High quality materials are used, and the art pieces produced are just amazing! My daughter cannot wait to go every week after school, it's made her really free and confident with her artwork. Highly recommend these classes for any child that just enjoys getting creative! SO MUCH FUN!"
This is a fun, hands-on Clay & Canvas course! Clay & Canvas Term Courses are varied, but focus primarily on these two mediums. They are well suited to the student who wishes to further explore the properties of clay (particularly glazing and decorating) and enjoys creating a variety of works on canvas, using different materials and approaches.
The course may include the following;
*Handbuilding (pinch, slab rolling and coiling) clay techniques using a variety of stoneware and earthenware clays
*Glazing ceramic work - underglazes, stoneware glazing, tissue transfers, lustre glazes (applied by the teacher only for health & safety reasons) pooling glazes, etc. Explores more advanced techniques not offered in the Art Taster term course.
(*The above are examples only, and are subject to change dependent on availability of resources, etc.)
A range of exciting visual arts sessions are provided, aimed at engaging young artists on a journey of discovery, experimentation and problem-solving. There are absolutely NO prerequisite skills and classes are deliberately planned to ensure all learning styles are supported- every child is an artist (Picasso)!
Return artists are most welcome! The open-ended nature of our classes and mediums ensures students can continue to come back, and enjoy different experiences and results each time. *Return artists are welcomed back with a 10% discount*
Classes are limited to ensure individual, personalised attention and are suited to school aged learners from 6-16 years. The multi-aged nature of the group allows everyone to be a leader, a friend, a learner and an encourager. In my experience there are so many benefits to working with multi ages in small and supported settings, particularly when children share similar interests and passions. The forming of new friendships is a wonderful bonus of our term courses.
Alphabet Kids Art Studio is a fully equipped home studio, located in Frankston South. The studio environment is welcoming, and engaging - without being precious! We expect a lot of fun, a lot of colour and a lot of mess! Likewise, please ensure your child/ren dress appropriately.
All materials and services are supplied (this may include but is not limited to; clay, glazes, kiln firings, resin, dyes, paints, sculpting materials including plasters, grouts, modroc, printing materials, waxes etc.).
Classes run from 2:30pm - 4:00pm over 8 weeks.
